Jackrabbits

The Jackrabbit ski league is a fun way for kids from 4 to 13 years of age to learn to cross-country ski! We are gearing up for another great year. We will meet every Sunday from 1:30pm. to 3:00pm., most often at White Butte Trails, 3.8 km north of White City, off Highway 48 intersection on Highway #1.
Click here for a directions and trail map.

Each week we meet to ski, play games and go on fun trips together. Jackrabbits is a family activity and parents are encouraged to actively participate in the lessons with their children, (especially the 4-7 year olds.)

Jackrabbit registration is $40.00 ($20.00 for those born in 2003, 04, 05) with a Regina Ski Club Membership. Lessons will start when the track is adequately established- usually mid December or early January. Coaches will contact each family by phone or email regarding the first session. Registration for the 2009-2010 season has now closed. Please email us jackrabbits@reginaskiclub.ca if you wish to be contacted about the 2010-2011 season.
To print the Jackrabbit Registration Form click here and contact jackrabbits@reginaskiclub.ca for information about mailing or drop off of fees and forms.

Jackrabbits is a volunteer organization. Coaches and behind the scenes organizers are always needed. Please email us jackrabbits@reginaskiclub.ca or call Leslie @ 522-1527. Training is provided. It's easy & lots of fun!

Here are a few things you should know as you get ready for a day on the snow:

Clothing:  Dress warm. Dress in layers so cloths can be vented or removed if you get too warm. Wear warm gloves, hats, and socks.

Equipment: Most of the time, "Classic" cross country skis, boots & poles are all you need for equipment. "Waxless" skis are OK for bunnyrabbits and beginners, but waxable skis are recommended for Jackrabbits entering skill level 3 or higher. Try to avoid 3 pin bindings in these higher skill levels, as they do not provide for good skate technique.

Cancellation Policy:
Jackrabbit sessions will be canceled if there is not enough snow for a good ski track or if the Environment Canada info line (780-5744) temperature is below -25 degrees Celsius or colder at 12 noon Sunday (including wind-chill factor).
